Akron Harmony Project
A mixed-voice a cappella ensemble rooted in tradition, growing in harmony.
Akron Harmony Project is a mixed-voice a cappella group blending barbershop roots with modern voices. Open, inclusive, and proudly Northeast Ohio-based, we sing to connect, inspire, and uplift.
We are a new chorus under the Akron Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, OH. (50 N Prospect St). All are welcome to come and experience the fun and join us on any Thursday.

Our Musical Journey
The Akron Chapter has long roots in the Barbershop Harmony Society. Many people know them as the "Akron Derbytown Chorus" performing locally and with annual shows for the past 76 years.
In 2020, the Akron Board authorized the creation of a new mixed-voice chorus. The Akron Harmony Project was begun in 2025 under the direction of Jesse Lange. Jesse is also the director of the Akron Derbytown Chorus.
The Akron Harmony Project is excited to embark on a new and competitive journey within the Barbershop Harmony Society representing the Johnny Appleseed District (JAD).
All voices are welcome and we hope you will join us on our quest to create meaningful musical experiences.
